DECKadence Marine Floor Covering

So, I have this on my bridge from the previous owner. It's a really *interesting* product.

Pros:
Feels really nice on the bar feet - especially in warm weather
Does not stain. Spills flow right through it
No mold or mildew
Take it out and hose it off

Cons:
Hard on the knees or elbows if you are laying on it to do any work
Not as 'plush' as carpet
Sound control is minimal - don't expect much for sound deadening
The lack of containment of spills is as much a negative as a positive. I spilled a beer, and it flowed around the floor.

Overall -- It's growing on me. Don't get it if you want something plush and luxurious. As I mentioned, it's great on bare feet in the summer. It does have some 'cushion' to it.

I know of a boat on the lake at the marina you mentioned on another site that has this product. I had the opportunity to check it out as I was looking for something for my own swim platform. I liked the fact that whatever liquid got on it ran off. However, although it was soft to walk on it was fairly coarse. If you use your platform to sit or lay on it isn't that comfortable. Women complain about the marks it temporarily leaves on the skin. I opted for a different product.

Looked into it two years ago for my cockpit but it cost a little too much for me.
I found out it is from a Canadian company that does not sell direct to the U.S. customers.
The U.S. has dealers for it. I found the main U.S. dealer that does the warehousing and cutting in Norfolk, Va. He told me he had remnants at about 75% of the price. Sorry, I no longer have his phone number. By calling the Canadian people they may give you his number in Virgina.

What did you end up using? I've got some Seadek samples coming......I'm leaning that way.

I haven't had it installed yet, but I'm going with SeaDek. I'm waiting on the installer.
