Went for a nice long cruise today as the weather was perfect.
The only problem was the unusual amount of debris in the Maumee river and western Lake Erie.
This has been a rainy cold spring with lots of NE winds and this must be why we have so much debris in the water.
Has anybody else in the great lakes noticed this?

yes ,$2300.00 worth of it.In the saginaw river.

We took a three hour cruise around Kelly's Island and Marblehead this past Sunday and I didn't see any debris in the water.

Thats a nice cruise.I bought my silverton 40 convertible in catabwa in 03 had a really bad trip back to Gibraltar mi from there ,it was the first bridge boat i ever drove and with the 35 mile per hour winds well you know how erie can get .My sides hurt for a week and i could hardly walk the next day.I soon learned to go a bit faster in rough water.

We cruised out to Toledo Harbor Light Saturday and up thru Downtown Toledo Sunday.
Yes!! - LOTS of Debris in the water. There seemed to be larger chunks on the Bay vs the Maumee River though. A friend of mine that works with a view to the Maumee River said she has seen entire trees floating down stream. Keep your eyes open if you choose to travel the Western Lake Erie waters.

We ran from Sandusky to West Bay (Kelleys) on Saturday and Sandusky to West Harbor (Crabby Joes) on Sunday. I did see some small stuff, but thankfully didn't see or find and prop knockers. Great weekend of boating (finally).

PS, We'll be at PIB for Memorial Day weekend. Look us up at PIB Marina.
