Flerlage Marine (Sea Ray of Lexington) is going out of business in September. Just got an email from the service manager this past week. Sucks. I've purchased both of my Sea Rays from them and have had an outstanding relationship with them. From Aquapalooza events, maintenance, purchase process, after-market modifications, whatever, they have been the best group of people to work with.

The Sea Ray line will be picked up by another local company, but it will be hard for them to match the service I was already getting. Plus, the company taking over this area sells other types of boats and have had their own customer-base for years, so being 'top of the list' when issues arise may be out of the question. I'll have to start all over again with the customer/vendor relationship building process.

Anyone else going through dealership changes?

Too bad. I bought my first Sea Ray from Flerlage Cincinnati.

Dealership changes can be difficult at first. There are a few stages you'll have to work through before you can begin to rebuild a relationship with a new dealer. Denial, anger, depression... They should offer counseling for just such an occassion. But seriously, that sucks. Hopefully they'll recognize their opportunities for bigger, better markets, and they'll reach out to those of you who were loyal customers before and likely to be loyal customers with them in the future.

If not, it's their loss, and sooner or later you'll live down South with the rest of us anyway, right? (Maybe not.)

Is that all of their locations or just Lexington?

I was thinking the same thing? The original owner of my boat purchased it from Flerlage Sea Ray of Cincinnati, and the service dept. has been helpfull even though I purchased it from a different dealer in Indiana the the PO traded it too.

Have you heard anything about the Cincinnati location?

Please update. I am interested in the future of Sea Ray of Louisville as well. What is going to happen to their (Lexington's) inventory? Are they going to sell (deep discounts?) or will they divy (sp?) it up between the other locations (assuming they are not closing)?

For now it is just their Lexington location, I believe. Stokley's is going to take over the Sea Ray line in Lexington, and will be selling Flerlage's inventory. They do have a sale going on right now I believe, based upon the sign on their lot. Their last day is Sep. 5.

For what it's worth, I just talked to the Flerlage dealer here in Cincinnati and they assured me that this only affects the Lexington market. No water in Lexington and a tough place to do business. Both Cincinnati and Louisville will remain. They also have a mobile service truck that services Lake Cumberland.

I was just out their on my lunch and was told the same thing. Good to hear it does not affect them.
