If I don't turn my batteries off each time they drain in a few days of nonuse. My boat hang out of the water when not in use, is this normal?

Nevermind....... I will be nice!

A few days? My 185 can hang in the lift for two weeks without any apparent effect on the (single) battery. It seems like something must still be drawing power. Does your stereo draw power for the memory?

I was thinking that your bilge pumps must be working quite a bit to drain your datteries in that amount of time. But that would only be plausible if you kept the boat in water...maybe your float switch is stuck in the on position? Otherwise, maybe a radio or amp is left on? Try turning your battery switch to the 'Off' position (if you have one) when the boat is out of the water and not in use.

+1 for Gunn's advice. If you don't have a battery switch you should consider one. The are relatively cheap and easy to install. If the batteries are in decent shape that will end the issues that you are describing.

Could it be the Mercathode system trying to work in air intead of water?

I recommend putting the gin and tonic away before you start typing :smt043

It's obvious that the lights aren't on. You need to check for missing nuerons!

Could be Bill, but his post didn't make much sense to me either. Maybe it's just me. Thanks Mate.

I was just hoping (a mean it is a stretch) but good lord could anyone type or spell that bad? Scott was most likely right on though!

I suggest a 50 amp circuit breaker with a push button on and off Just remember to push it off when you quite for the day
Oh yea and if it doesn't start check the breaker!
