I'm going to be heading up to Jacksonville on Thursday for New Years and to see the Gator Bowl on New Years day (Bobby Bowden's last game). Got my slip all reserved and set at the River City Brewery.

My question is if anyone knows about how long it takes to get up from Daytona to Jacksonville? I've been as far north as St Augustine but not to Jax yet. I'm assuming maybe 4 hrs (I know it takes 2.5 to St Augustine roughly)? Thanks for any help just trying to plan out when to leave in am. I assume it's pretty easy as you just follow ICW like going to St Augustine but just keep going til you get to Jax and hang a left go into downtown (St. Johns)?

Thanks for any help as always!

I have done that trip on the inter coastal down to St Augustine, I put in at Beach Blvd Marina and ramp and went down. We were not in a hurry but the trip only took about 1 1/2 hr from there. The following day we went north and around into down town and that took a lot long to get there. (Sight seeing) but the evening return trip lasted about 45 minutes since we were south of town on the St Johns and that was hauling butt. I would give it 2 1/2 hrs travel time from St Augustine at a nice easy cruise speed. :smt024

I would say give yourself 4 to 4 1/2 hours, depends on what you try to cruise at, there is a long stretch in Palm Valley, which is "No Wake." So they say?

Thanks for the info. I usually cruise around 22-24 mph, depending on currents. I take it Palm Valley is between St Augustine and Jax?

I think it is as stretch less then ten miles north of St. Augustine before it begins. If you have a chart it is listed.
