Said goodbye to my beloved 290 and picked up a 08 340 about a month ago. With the 290, (1999) I had a weaver davit system which worked great with my hard bottom Zodiac (10').

With the integrated swim platform on the 340 (which is considerably higher off the water than my 290's swim platform), I'm trying to figure out hte best way to install a davit system for my zodiac.

Any and all pictures/suggestions of similar setups greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, guys.

I have a Nautley DinghyRamp and it works well on my 08 340. Look at the pictures in my album by clicking on my signature. The swim platform is much higher off the water but once you figure out the best way to retrieve the dinghy its not bad at all.

I forgot to mention that weight is a major issue if you plan on using the DinghyRamp. If the dinghy and motor is too heavy you will have a very hard time getting it on the swim platform. I have a 9.5ft dink (65 lbs) with a 9.8hp 4 Stroke (95 lbs) which is manageable.

Thanks so much for your response....I took a look at your pics, and it seems like that approach might also be a possibility for me..

The Zodiac I have (I think) weighs about 115lbs, and the motor (5hp Merc) about 50lbs give or take. So overall, I'm looking at about the same amount of weight as what you have, just configured slightly differently.

Is there a maximum weight for this system, and if so, do you happen to know how much it is?

Many thanks in advance.

BTW, I hope you are enjoying your 340 as much as we are...What an awesome boat!

Weaver makes "drop down" brackets for exactly this situation - check out their website for details - that way you can still make use of the existing pads on your dink

i was in baltimore this weekend and talked with a fellow 08 340 owner, this guy had his boat all pimped out. he had a sea lift hydraulic lift added to his boat. it was very sweet. the only drawback as i see it is the weight capacity (350lbs). in addition to the lift he had trumpet horns to replace the very week factory horn and trac vision tv. it was an awesome boat
