Can anyone point me to where I might find out WHAT THE TRICK IS to get the # 4 spark plug angled back “UP” into the bottom cylinder?

PS - Happy New Year to the entire CSR family!

Not sure about the outboard but i read to use a piece of rubber hose that would fit tight over the spark plug when changing a westerbeke generator plug. Maybe this would work for you

I have the same motor and although not easy at all I did the job a few times ever the years with a 3/8” spark plug socket. I don’t remember which angle my hand was when I got it but it is doable.

Try getting a piece of black rubber hose that fits snug on shark plug !

bone, Jeremy, Express - Thank Ye!

I am so embarrassed; I went back and found an earlier discussion (last year or 2018) in which veteran CSR member Lazy Daze advised me to be prepared to use the “rubber hose” method to not just get the threads started but, to effectively AVOID CROSS-THREADING them!

Mea Culpa

Man, I am really starting to get worried about my memory ... sheesh ... good thing I still have incredible looks ... and charm! (Gag, Grin!)

Thank You all, again.
