Does anyone know where I can rent a cutlass bearing pull like the strut pro? My yard wants $650 :smt089 to replace which seems a little high. Any other options out there or just make one?
Almost ready for the trip north....

My tool was about $6000.00.
650 for the pair including bearings and lift isn't too bad. Figure $200 for bearings and $5/ft for the lift.

Nice power tool...The price does not include the haul/block/wash (+$280) nor pulling/replacing the props (+$160).

The strut pro tool is around $500 plus freight (threaded rod system).
Still thinking....

I'm also supplying cutlass brg too ($135 for pair - Duramax). So with haul, brgs, yard labor....$900. I guess they are planning to pull the shaft to replace them??

Looked thru this posting...it appears he hired someone with the tool. I've tried to locate someone local but was not successful. This situation sounds like the same case...yard says they have the tool but...
Thanks

the boat is in St Augustine Florida and will be transported in the next few weeks to NJ. I found a place today that will lift the boat from the transport trailer and service the cutlass brgs while in the sling...quote at 2 hours or less including putting the props on.

Much better solution.
