1993 Kohler genset, little noisy :)

Anyone built themselves a f.glass or similar sound shield? Any tips? Can it be done? Overheating problems with bought ones?

Any photos of existing ones?

Just thoughts at this stage, maybe even sound padding?

I would suggest trying to minimize the exhaust noise before trying to install a sound attenuator. I would be afraid that the "box", if not properly designed, could cause a heat issue. I plan on upgrading my muffler system and adding some extra sound insulation under the deck on even on the inside of the hull adjacent to the genny. A box would be tough but my diesel genny is pretty loud and we raft up with a bunch of boats quite often. I hate to have to talk over the noise. One boat takes a hose from his exhaust and sticks it into the water to baffle the noise. Not a fan of that idea though...
