I spent some time repainting my engines…I thought I’d share in case anyone is looking to do the same.

Very nice!

Would love to see before pics as well.

What kind of prep did you have to do to prepare the surfaces? I would imagine degreasing in the tight spaces has to be a pain?

Spray cans I assume? How did you keep over spray from getting all over ER? What paint did
you use?

Looks great!

My engines were sort of chipped up, particularly the port engine top surface because Im always climbing on it and resting things on it. I also had some small areas of rust. I used a degreaser everywhere I could and then a small wire brush to any rusted or loose paint areas. Based on color/brand recommendations from CSR members I ordered a can of each and tested for color match. I found the Rustoleum Ultra Cover gloss white to be the perfect match. After prep as noted in this pic I went at it. I ended up using almost 2 cans. This weekend I'll pull off Aluminum foil and tape. It's really not a big job and it's VERY rewarding!

Looks Great!

The Aluminum foil is KEY in avoiding overspray on all those hoses, etc!

Yes, great idea with the aluminum foil. We looked at a 42/44 DA a few years back. The owner must have had it newly painted to prep for sale. There was over spray everywhere, labels painted over with drip spots on the hull. It was a huge turn off. Its just looks well cared for when you take your time and do it right and that looks great.
