I don't know of any who have ventured out, due to the impact of the recent weather. Anyone been on it lately, when do you think it will be clear again?

I brought my boat up from Deep River on the friday before Hurricane Irene to Petzolds and they pulled it. Had hopes of going back in the water yesterday but went to check on the river level and it was way to high with alot of crap still coming down the river. Hopefully we will be in next weekend. I just read a thread that was posted by JV II and he hit a nice timber with no apparent damage. I hit a log in the CT river with my previous boat and was not as lucky. Broke several pieces on the sterndrive. I wouldn't risk it again. Sit at the marina and have a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the weekend!

I have been to the boat, but have not had her out of the slip in September. Just a week ago I pulled a 25' tree trunk out from under the boat (I "almost" started and drove the boat out of the slip to get it, but luckily moved the boat by hand) and a ton of debris from the north facing slips.

I would like to get back out there in the next week or two, and then do a trip to the sound before winterizing.

I was out on the river on Sunday but with some trepidation. There's still a lot of debreis floating down river - mostly I think from people throwing stuff in up in MA/VT.

However, it's getting better every day. We're hoping to go down river and then to Greenport this weekend.

I haven't started the engines since 8/12, our way back from Montauk - we are also thinking about going down river, and Greenport this weekend...but it's a long shot. Hopefully, it will happen, but if not I'm OK with that, too. From looking at the water, debris, hearing from others, and also seeing very few boats out there, something in the back of my head says it wouldn't be a good idea to go out yet. I'm probably too cautious, but I don't want to end the season on a bad note, due to bad decision making.

Finally went out Sunday. Lots of dodging debris. At least one floating pet. I went from essex to the RR bridge, and didn't dare go over 10mph. Some folks were on plane...it wasn't worth it to me.

Ugh. I was hoping it was a typo for "pier"... sorry for poking at that...
