CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

Who's got extra deck of cards for Dinghy Poker Run? We'll need few.

Is anyone volunteering for utensils, plates, cups, garbage bags, etc?

Quick question to folks from Mystic region. I have my route plotted through "Lords Passage" when heading from Mystic to Block. Are there any objections? Do you have better/shorter way when heading to Block? I've considered "Watch Hill Passage", but it appeared to put you too far east.

I mapped it out the same way. It seems to give the "straightest" run to Block.

Lords Passage is the route to take....

Sorry if I miss this in the thread, but who will be headed to Mystic on 8/11 and passing through the Fairfield county area and what time. We are docked in Stratford and would like to meet up and travel to mystic together. I recall there were a few members from the Milford and Stamford areas making the trip.

I prefer to just exit watch hill passage. You are protected by Sugar Reef that much longer, and its less dangerous. The waves seem to stack up on Lords and Catumb passages much more than watch hill. It was last year that a 40 footer went down in Catumbs once they hit a rock outside the channel. You usually have to slow down going through these passages where i'll just barrel through watch hill. If you look at the angle maybe you save .1 miles, maybe. Timewise its probably longer with slowing down and increased wave activity. If I had a big group I would do watch hill.

Enjoy your trip. We take off on Wednesday for Block for 5 days, then MV for 4 days, and Cuttyhunk for 3 days. Most folks at Mystic Shipyard are great. Mary, Jeff, Glenn, Tim and team will treat you right.

One other thing, right after Red 22 on the Mystic river you can take a left out of the channel and follow the cut through the mooring field. It knocks off 10 minutes when travelling to Block. It has small red and greens showing the path. At dead low the shallowest I have seen was 3.9 feet. Mid tide and up you have plenty of water.

We leaving out of Milford for Block either Wed or Thursday. Trying to firm things up, work is going to dictate which we can do.

Couple things, Greg do you still have our name tags in your jacket? The boat is called RYME only not boat-RYME(Ross, Yulia,Maya, Eva). if you guys are going to use the eastern channel in the mystic river that was mentioned, I'd do it only at mid tide and above and stay toward the green cans. 2 boats that I know of have hit something there both were near the red cans(possibly over too far) but one was a 24' stern drive and it destroyed his drive. I go through there all the time but I don't draft much.

BTW, how many are arriving on the 8th? I was thinking of taking off on Friday too. Maybe hookup with you guys and then move to the slip on Saturday.

I am starting out on Friday from home and heading east. We may stay in Shinnecock for the night or go all the way to Shelter Island. Some other boats will be traveling with us, Ron and Wendy on Knot for Sail and one other boat at least. There are others from the GSB who are starting on Friday with a few of them staying in Shinnecock.

If we made it all the way to Shelter, I was considering rafting for the night then moving to the marina on Saturday, but I will need to run e generator for the night as my fridge does not work on 12volt anymore and the food will not stay cold overnight. I did not want to disturb anyone with the generator running all night.

Looks like an early departure Friday am, [in case we are forced to go inside], so more than likely we will go directly to Shelter [with a fuel stop in Shinnecock].
Happy to raft up!

Ron

I have the DE561 fridge. I guess I would need the power supply. If you have it, I would be interested in buying it from you.

I'll be there Fri the latest. Ron was also planning on getting there Fri.

Greg,

I just updated first page where I moved Bob from maybies to participants.

Bob and Jerral, "Mystical" 60CPMY Viking, Norwalk CT

They'll also have additional crew, which final count and names are yet TBD. So, would be possible to have few name tags with blank names where people can just hand write them in?
