CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

Hi Alex

count us in for the pictures.

Thanks

Neil

Good morning to all,

I got the proposed quote for the photo-shooting. We're getting April special, 3 locations for $885 (with $300 p/h fee waived). With NYS tax of $76.33, we're looking at the total of $961.33. If we do rough circulations by splitting between say 35 boats, we'll be looking at just under $30 per boat.

So, the question of the day is, ARE WE DOING IT?

We need to make the decision as per contract "...A 50% DEPOSIT OF $480.67 IS REQUIRED TO SECURE THIS PHOTO FLIGHT FOR THE DATE(S) REQUESTED...."

FYI it takes about 20 minutes to get from MSY to the northern point of Rams Island where the no wake zone ends.

It sure does take a while. I would expect that it'll take at least 30min for the gang to take from the dock and get to the meeting point.

Hi Alex

count us in for the pictures.

Thanks

Neil

Sounds good, Niel.

Folks, quick update on the photo-shooting arrangement. Since I was getting positive responses from some of you, I've submitted required deposit. So, we're all set. We just need to have total number of boats interested in the pix, so we can do the even split of the cost and pix distribution.

This is what we have so far:

You had to throw in a TBD on the name:smt043

First it was the '.' on the name cards at Todd's gathering, and now this

Paul, in case you don't have enough "pressure", this is how colorful your info looks :

You better start filling those buckets or we'll transition your CSR name into "TBD".....:smt043

Alex….I will say at this point "no" on the pictures…..Logistically too complicated..lol

Oh man, we just lost our lead boat...

No worries, John. I totally understand.

Good morning folks. I have a quick announcement to make.

I just got off the phone with dockmaster at Island Boatyard & Marina and as of now they are totally full for the weekend of our feast (8/9-8/11). There are few people who didn't confirm their reservations yet, but as of now we have 16 slips assigned to our fleet and the rest of the group will have to utilize the anchorage area.

What are the options for new folks who're looking to join us? We have 3 choices here:

1. We have few folks who booked their slips, but are willing to give them up to those who need them and will be willing to go in to anchorage area instead.
2. The other option is to join the raft 2nd half of the group.
3. Last but not least, you can always try finding a spot in the anchorage area and drop the hook on your own.

So, if anyone is in a situation where you couldn't make the commitment earlier, but still wish to join and use option #1, let's get the communication going. We have only 16 slips to work with.

Also, a word of caution to those who's planning to use anchorage. The place is not big and it's very much preferred spot and gets filled quick on the weekends. So, there's always a chance on having an issue finding a spot. As I mentioned in earlier discussions, forming a raft and securing it with stern anchors along the shoreline should make things simpler, as we won't need a swinging room. But, we'll need some folks to arrive earlier to block the spot. I'll be planning to be there sometime Friday and start forming the raft. This could very well mean that my spot might become available for other boat who needs a slip, or take my spot in the raft. I'm flexible.

Here's another look at the area:

I think im on the "i'll take a slip if you really need me to" list, so i'll gladly give it up - i have not contacted them - i should be in the area thurs or early fri and could help secure the raft-up spot...

Mike, it seems like there were few of us that signed up on the list to meet minimum requirement. So, this only shows that we have flexibility and those who didn't make it earlier shouldn't be discouraged. We can make the slips arranged if needed.

If you could make it there in advance that would be awesome. I remember last year you managed make it earlier, but this time it would be really helpful due to lack of space.

I will be in Sag mid week (pre flotilla) and can make it over any time - just let me know when and where I should anchor - unless your going to be there too

That's great! Let's coordinate as we get closer to the date.

We are in the raft group.........and will still be in the raft group, unless someone... oh forget it

First rule of the raft group is not to talk about the raft group....Second rule of the raft group is not to talk about the raft group

Something tells me that at the cocktail hour you tend to forget about your own rules...:smt043

There's a raft up? Where do find more information on that?
