CSR Northeast Flotilla 2014

When I called them over the winter, they said I could make a reservation (they did not mention a 2 night minimum or an issue because I am a Nassau resident) or just go there the night I wanted to stay and see if a slip was open. They said for a Friday night in August, non Holiday weekend, I would not likely have a problem getting a slip. If there is going to be a few of use staying there, then if may be out of luck now. I am still not sure what my Friday night plan will be. I may still try Shinnecock or one of the other marinas nearby.

Harold,
We stopped there for a night on the way back from Newport last year. We made reservations over the winter. It was full when we went there. One of my local friends goes there every year and says to book early because it is an inexpensive spot that fills quickly.
That would be awesome if Non-residents can stay too! I called the other day & they said a two day stay was not required per whatever the woman could read in the office but the website would not let us book less than two nights stating it was a requirement.

During our trip to Zach's Bay over Memorial Day weekend I had some questions regarding the arrangements, so I figure a quick reminder would be a good idea for those who don't follow closely.

1. Despite the fact that marina at Westneck Harbor is booked for that weekend, we have 16 slips reserved for our group. We have several people who will be happy to release their slips to those who need them. the slips range from 26'-60', so we have pretty much all sizes needed. If anyone needs a slip, just ask for it and we'll find it.

Mike (Ididntdoit), I think we found a swap for your slip with "Miss Melina". I don't know how big of a slip you've reserved, but Larry's 330DA might just fit. He expressed an interest on taking a slip, so let's get the ball rolling and see if yours will do it.

"Summer Sealution" will take either Greg's or my slip. We'll determine as we get closer to the date.

2. Those who didn't submit t-shirts order, let me know as soon as you're ready. It's already June.

3. Areal Photo-shooting. Those who didn't respond yet, please let me know if you wish to be in the pool for purchasing the areal photos of the flotilla and your boat. As of now we have 18 boats in the pool, so we're looking at approx. $53 per boat. The more boats join the pool the less it'll be per boat. If anyone who's reading this has no idea what's this about, feel free to PM or email me and I'll provide details. Otherwise, scroll back 10-15 pages and all the details are in the thread.

4. Does anyone have any idea by now what date they'll be leaving Block? We need to finalize the date of the "End of the Flotilla Feast". Then, we'll need to start looking at the place which can accommodate us.

5. If anyone still didn't reserve a slip in Mystic, let's not wait too long.

6. It's getting closer, so we should start thinking about the activities we'd like to do in ports. It always helps when others participate. If anyone has some ideas, don't be shy, post here or PM, or email me. Just like last year, Mirage's crew will take care of some kids games. I'll slowly start making the "Daily Compass", which will include our activities. But again, if you have ideas, let's hear them.

I spoke to Jim today. At the moment, it looks like he'll arrive at Block Thursday night, and raft up with us. Then, Friday morning, he'll take a group out fishing until mid day. Then, he can return, and take a second group out for the afternoon. If that's not enough fishing, he has a partner he can bring along (also a Luhrs sportfisherman), and we can take an additional 2 groups, making a total of 4. So, let us know who is in for fishing, and we'll make it happen.

Dale

Wow, that's some service, Dale. Getting picked up right from the raft, awesome!

Oh boy, let's not go there. It's complicated enough and you know it....

Alex - I never called/reserved a slip at shelter - It would have been 33 loa though - So larry - feel free to jump in...

Lol hey now its not my fault they fall in love with my boat then run away when they get to know me! But no I honestly think donna will b around for a while. Well hopefully. And hey somebody in the group has to b interesting! I think I'm doing a good job holding that position! .:smt101

Mike, I just checked my records and I have you as 30' while Larry's boat I have listed as 35'. He also has a dinghy on the swim platform, so this requires some extra room. If my records have correct numbers, we'll need to find 35' or larger slip for Larry.

Larry, call IBM and see what they say regarding what fits your needs.

I see you have me as TBD for Block. My first post stated I can make the first two ports, but have to head west as I have a previous commitment for Friday. I'm sure you read through so many posts, it's easy to miss. Just letting you know not to save a place in Block for us.

Thanks for reminder, Rich. Unfortunately, due to technical limitations I have to maintain two versions. One is a spreadsheet and the other plain text format, which I post on the first page. My driver is the XLS one, so seems that what I have on the first page is out of sync. I'll sync them when I get a chance.

Here's what I have on the "Departing From Block":
