It seems to be located in a container/housing unit on the starboard side of the engine. This will be the first time changing it. Boat is showing no fuel/sputtering issues. It just needs changed(2 years on this filter). Any suggestions? Helpful tips?

Not hard to do if it's the same as my old 8.1 crusaders. Unscrew the housing and replace filter.

There's two styles of housings (unsure from your post description or signature). One is a simple, black plastic box where the top lid and bottom section pop apart to reveal a spin-on fuel filter (like an oil filter). The other is a more robust box where the lid has a handle, removed via the (3) bolts that you see, to reveal the fuel filter element. Don't forget to look at the lower, pre-filter on this style.
