We cruised from Panama City to SanDestin last Saturday and stayed at the Baytowne Wharf Marina for 3 nights. It's quite a great time. I highly recommend it. Make reservations NOW for next Dec 31st. They have a very impressive firework display on the water. It's a wonderful village with tons of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs...It has a VERY clean, rustic, romantic architecture design. People get around on Golf Carts, including on the docks! There's a resort if you want to stay landside for a night or two.

We took the intercoast both ways. Today, winds were NW at 25 knots PLUS. The Bays were extremely rough, but the ICW was calm.

My 340 ran 25 mph at 3450 RPM with full gas, and 27 mph at 3350 RPM with 1/2 gas. We cruised home at 25 - 26 mph at 3250 RPM (about 1/2 gas), down wind in the ditch.

All I can tell you is your timing was perfect.........and lucky. Monday's winds were calm, had you stayed another night you could have enjoyed Baytown's famous 3-4' chop in your slip with winter's ambient north winds. There is no sleeping as your boat snatches and jerks on the lines.

Just ask the die-hards who stayed after you left..................

My timing may have been good, but not perfect. We were bouncing around all morning, and during our departure we took some pretty good spray over the top - I had a huge cleanup job when we got back, but it's all better now.

Did that trip last Summer before the CSR PCB get together. Had a great time at the resort. Would highly recommend it.
