I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or solutions to the following problem:

The Cruisaire Thermostat in the forward stateroom keeps blinking:

""HI PS"

and I think that might be caused by several possible problems and we are looking into the actual problem/solutions..

But the "HI PS" blinking cannot be reset as instructed by the manuel, by holding the power button or the mode button. I have tried resetting the breaker switches that powers that thermostat but nothing seems to reset the continous blinking?

Any suggestions?

If the fault can not be reset the high pressure switch is either seeing high pressure or it is a faulty switch. If I remember correctly these are a "normally closed" switch and you may have had one of the wires come off or break.

That is the high pressure shut down. Caused by lack of cooling water, overcharged coolant, or dirty condenser. I do have a service manual that I can email.

Further to my last, if the fault is showing up as soon as you turn the power on the thermostat and, you havent started the AC unit, you need to look into why the switch is giving that fault. If you get the fault 15 seconds or so after you start the AC unit then the cooling water, etc. that the op's have stated could be the problem.

I actually encountered the same problem with my unit recently. Went through all the common issues of cleaning etc. only to find a sensor sticking. I stumbled across it to be honest, when I located the unit under my V berth I noticed that there was a controller mounted next to the unit. I turned the unit on at the pad then gave the controller a "gentle whack" and presto working perfect ever since.

I just had the same problem last week. The Cruisair dealer came out and ended up replacing a bad trigger for the pump relay, a $55 part. I'm glad I called him. I never would have figured it out myself.

I'm responding to my own question, in hopes that it might help someone else out in the future, if they have the same AC situation. I was having problems with my thermostat reading "HI PS" and never resetting or turning off..see my original post for exact details...I did receive some good advice and checked everything out from other forum members. I also got very good advice from Marine HVAC techs, but I could not get anyone to inspect my boat, probably due to the extreme heat wave and summer season that I was in the middle of. In any case the solution was finally diagnosed by the Cruisaire Corporation/Customer Service Dept., who by the way, were nothing else other than exceptional at walking me through a lot of testing and possible solutions, of which did not solve the problem. The final step was to replace the computer board that is housed in the Cruisaire Control Panel that each AC unit has hooked to it. I did it myself,....but somewhat time consuming and hard to get it, but even with my limited patience and experience, I was able to replace it and it solved the problem. If anyone needs more information on this topic, please feel free to contact me at anytime.
