Cruisair - No Heat or AC

This was the best pic i could find online. Not sure if yours may differ. Its located at the bottom of the unit, sort of where all the tubular pipping comes together. You could probably tap on it with something like the handle of a screwdriver if it is indeed stuck. View attachment 67450
Thanks, Ill see if I can give it a wack this weekend. Going to the Boat Show in Richmond and it will likely be a wet one.
Cheers

My newer Turbo unit started a month ago blower coming on, but no compressor with the unit on heat. Turn it off and on 3-4 times and works perfect. Did a factory reset. After you get it to come on once, it works flawlessly for a while(8-12 hours). Then it will come on(no compressor) and blow for 3-4 min, cut off....come back on and blow 3-4 min(no compressor), cut off...then maybe the 3rd or 4th time it does this, the compressor comes on and again it works flawlessly for quite a while.

The AC is works to prefection. The water temp has warmed up 5* in the past 2 weeks so that isn't it. I think my circuit board is not right, but don't know. Found a lose ground wire and thought that might be it...nope.

Will continue to watch and try to figure it out....

Thank you for the photo, this will definitely help. Will I be looking for this in the engine compartment or down below someplace? Sorry :)

Not being fully familiar with your 260 (based on your signature). Your ac unit looks to be located on the starboard side of your mid state room.

Thank you so much...I will be sure to try this once the boat is launched!! Happy Boating!

So it seems it’s the Salon ac’s turn to not work. The unit runs and pumps water and I believe the compressor kicks in as I can hear it and I can see the amp needle jump as it kicks in then it sits at about 12 amps when the unit is running but no heat is coming out. I can hear the click as the heat pump switchs. I’ve tried a reset on the thermostat but still no heat. Any thoughts?

Btw forward unit heats fine, only thing keeping us from freezing tonight.

Sounds like a stuck reversing valve. I've had success by cycling the AC from heat to AC a few times to free it up. You have to wait a few minutes between cycles or the system will trip the breaker.

Tried that as well as tapping on the reversing valve with no luck. Wondering if it needs a charge? If I cycle between heat and ac I can feel the lines heat up. If I reverse the cycle the opposite line heats up and the other cools down. Leads me to believe the reversing valve is working. Compared to my state room though while on heat the line is warm to the touch where I can keep a finger on it. In the state room I can’t as it’s much hotter. So seems I’m not getting up to temp to heat up the fins to transfer heat?

I had the same issue with our Cruisair Reverse Heat not blowing warm air. Traced it to the reversing solenoid not getting 240 volts.

Replaced the electronic board $350 and that did the trick.

I wondered if there was a component on the board that could have been replaced for less cost however it is done now and works great.

You can test the board and solenoid by putting a voltage tester on the two electrical leads of the solenoid to see what voltage you are getting at the solenoid when heat is activated. I suppose you could have a different voltage solenoid also so you may want to pull it out as well and check the label on the solenoid.

You can also test the solenoid when voltage is applied and stick a screw driver in the center of the device and see if the solenoid has a magnetic pull. There are videos on line that demonstrate this test.

Of course be careful as that voltage will hurt.

Hope this helps.
