Anyone know where you can get an air filter for the A/C? I have a 340 I was told the periodic maintenance would be to clean the air filter and the freashwater strainer.n Went to clean the filter on the A/C unit and there was not one.

Most of the cruiseair models that I have seen use the aluminum mesh filters (similar to is used on kitchen exhaust hoods). I would try cruisair's web site, as I would think this would be available as a replacement item. Or you can find an oversized one (at menards or home depot) and cut it down.

I bought my 270DA new in 2001. At the end of the first season I also found the AC filter was missing. The local Sea Ray dealer wanted me to buy one. I guess they did not believe me when I told them it never was there. I looked at the OE filter on another boat and it was nothing but a rectangle shaped piece of aluminum mesh fabric with an aluminum frame. I think they wanted around $50 for one.

Out of being pi$$ed I decided to make one. I bought a piece of galvanized hardware cloth (SS would be better) and cut it to fit the filter slot about 12" X 18". This is the wire mesh hardware cloth on 1/4" X 1/4" grids. It only cost a couple of dollars. I also bought a piece of window AC foam filter material, cut it to fit, and put it in front of the hardware cloth. Total cost was less than $4. It has been running like this for 9 years.

Mine has the metal mesh material but is not in a frame. Not a very tidy fit at all.

Worst part is the metal grating that you open up to get to the filter. Has these little plastic slides that are mostly missing and nearly impossible to keep working properly. I tried for about 30 minutes on time just trying to get the metal cover to stay on after removing it.

There must be a better way. I might try Velcro.
