Cross referencing Mercruiser to GM (Chevy) parts?

You might have better luck if you remove it and take it to Napa. I know that I've done this with a part or two. They will look up my motor and year but when they pull the actual part it's not the right one. My only luck is to match the part itself.

Diameter and timing mark location are the 2 things to look at.

I know this store is not in your area but they are a Napa Marine & Auto store, this store has some knowledgeable marine folks usually working days, try giving them a call.

I need to change my starboard harmonic balancer too. I have a 2005 4.3L Vortec V-6. Are you saying I will run into a problem with this as well? I was going to pull it and take it to my local NAPA shop.

I ran the numbers you posted and it showed Mercruiser dealers. Prices $99 - $149. The higher for OEM part.

I found an article that may help. Only stated that Marine applications use a short water pump and 6.75" balancer.
