2011 Sea Ray 260 Sun Deck. Can someone tell me what is happening. Boat runs fine until you stop and go to idle, alarm comes on saying critical water pressure. Water temp is at 160 and oil temp is at 150. Any ideas?

Have you changed your impeller since you got the boat? Is your engine still pumping water over the side when you idle? I'd start there.

Where will I see the water pumping over the side on a 2011 Sea Ray 260 Sundeck? Tach. shows all temps reading fine ruling out impeller. Just alarm goes off at idle sometimes stating critical water pressure. Any idea where sensor is located on 350 Mag.?

If it's in the water you wont. Trailer yes. Probably located in the power steering cooler

The only water you would see pumping out the side of the boat is the bilge pump.
The motor exaust and water exit thru the idle reliefe holes and the prop.

Thank you very much, first boat and learning. Found the senor at the back o the motor. Cleaned connector and have not had an alarm so far. Also ordered new sensor since they go bad frequently. Looks like Salt away is a super product especially with me running my boat in salt water down in St Petersburg.

I just had the same thing happen. Underway the pressure comes up and shuts off the alarm, at idle the pressure drops to 0 but temp stays normal. My mechanic says that sand/silt can get in the water pressure sensor and clog it giving a low or no reading setting off the alarm, common occurrence. He will replace it when we pull the boat for winterizing next week.

You are still getting enough water to keep every thing cool flow wise but in idle your pressure is dropping below required pressure to keep sensor from activating. It's set up that way so you fix the small problem before you have a bigger one.
