Critical Low Voltage

350 MAG w Bravo III Drive
2011 SeaRay 240 Sundeck w/350 MAG & Bravo III drive w DTS

I noticed after winterizing that my drive lube hose leaks when trimmed all the way down. I trimmed it back up but it barely made it due to low batteries. I immediately put both batteries on charger ( I have a dual battery setup with switch). Now both batteries are fully charged but when I turn key to "ON' I get the System Fault Code Critical Low Voltage. I'm unable to trim back down or do anything really. Is there something I need to reset?

There isn’t a reset that I’m aware of. Check your cables, make sure they are clean and tight. Check the water level in the batteries.

How old are the batteries?

I'll have to check, they could be original. Just odd that both would go out at the same time if thats the case.

Now I’m getting these Faults. Also tried running jumper cables from my truck to each battery and still unable to trim unit up or down.

Connecting jumper cables to the battery cable terminals won’t help if the connections are loose or dirty.

if your batteries are shot, it won’t help either.

If your ground connection on the engine block is loose or corroded, you’ll get the same issue.

I would start with getting the batteries checked. Chargers can vary in how "well" they actually charge, too. What is the resting V?

Take them out of the boat, charge them again for a couple days, each, and then get them load tested. If they're over 5 years old - skip all that and just get two new ones.

Until good/reliable battery voltage is achieved/verified, no other diagnosis can really be done. Good V is the first step.

Weird things happen with Smartcraft when the battery voltage isn't sufficient.

Very true. DTS adds another layer of voltage sensitive components.
You may have seen this tag on the power wire too.

As mentioned before, check the ground connections too. They must be clean and tight.
I have several different ground wires in addition to the big fat one connected to the batteries. You would think that one of them was for the trim pump. They’re not. When I remove just the big heavy ground cable from the battery, my trim pump doesn’t work.

That tells me the trim pump is most likely grounded through the engine block connection.

Crawl back and take a look at the connection, it should be on the rear of the starboard cylinder head.

I’m not saying this is definitely your problem, but it could be.
