I have a friend of mine whose cabin entry door is cracked and looking for a way to repair this clearly there is no leftover stock so buying a new door is not an option any advice or strategies would be appreciated Going to try and upload a photo soon

Is it cracked all the way thru. Or just the top layer of gel coat? Seems like it would be a basic fiberglass/gel coat repair.

It is cracked all the way through you can flex it apart

That door is lexan, not a gel coated fiberglass. Boatoutfitters.com does custom replacement work for those. Make sure he is sitting down before he calls. They make them for a 320 but they will do custom work for other boats

Good to know thanks for the heads up but also looking for alternatives with repairing the broken door what is a good bonding agent for Lexan?

That’s what I was thinking, masking off the entire area above and below and allowing the glue to set up assuming there’s going to be some runoff might even have to do it in multiple applications?

Shouldn't need multiple applications but, proper alignment of the edges and lateral clamping which will require removal of the door will yield the best results possible. Also try to find a cleaner solvent that will clean up the excess that squeezes out before it starts to cure but wont affect the Lexan, if possible. After it's done, if your buddy doesn't like the look, find a suitable wrap.

The wrap is a great idea!!!!

The wrap is a great idea!!!!
A wrap will show an imperfections what so ever. I recommend a quality straight edge to check the repaired surface for flatness after the repair before the wrap if he go's that route.
Now you know,... we will need during repair and after pic's.
