Covid - crap

Wife and I have had covid 3 times. First was when it first surfaced. We got it on a cruise ship. Half the ship was sick and the staff was only concerned about keeping it quiet. Ship docked and everyone headed home. When we got to the airport there were a dozen or so people laying on the floor in the terminal, including me.

When we got home we went to the doctor. At the time no test kits were available yet so doc tested for everything else and came up with nothing so diagnosed Covid. We were miserable for about a week then it passed.

Weve had it twice since then and it felt more like a mild flu, but tests said it was Covid. We have both had 2 shots. My government VA doc says to get every vax as soon as they are available. My civilian doc says to stay away from the Covid vax so not getting anymore Covid shots.
 
Wife turned 50 and got shingles the very next day. Thought it was just a rash, until it started hurting very bad.

I got pneumonia due to mold allergies, real bad a couple of years ago. Add in a tooth that went septic and I got real sick. I finally went in to a doctor and he made arrangements for an emergency tooth extraction along with heavy antibiotics. Sent me to the ER for my first IV. They did two covid tests and said both were negative. Got my two bags of fluids and went to leave, that fricken ER doctor put down that I had pneumonia caused by covid. I was pissed to say the least. The next day the hospital called me asking about payment and then asked how I was feeling. I told them if they ever ask me about money again or if I get a bill, my lawyer would be seeing them in court for malpractice, saying I had covid with two negative tests and saying I had it for the goobermental money they got.

My son got the shots for his work. Got sick a few times after. Other than cuts and bruises, never been sick before. I've heard some horror stories from those vaxes. I'm good without them.

I sure hope you feel better quick.

My wife had a class mate die in a motorcycle wreck. Hit by a truck and spread a half mile along the highway. Same thing. His widdow is sitting pretty damn good right now. Hospital, county and the state all got their due hammering on that one.
 
I had Covid at least once. Pretty sure I have had it at least 3 times.
My doc keeps pushing me to get boosters but I keep telling him no. His nurse got the first shot cause she was forced to and said she got so sick she refused to get the 2nd and told him to fire her if he had to. Her daughter was 7 or 8 months pregnant and got the vax and had her baby premature. Dr's said it was caused by the vax.
 
This is my first time getting it. Exhausted after a short walk. Slept the majority of yesterday. Up now. Feeling better, I think. I really haven't done anything other than start the coffee and take my levothyroxide pill. That has to be taken on an empty stomach with no food for an hour. Not sure how the coffee is going to go down.
 
The amount of damage COVID did to the U.S. will be hard to ever calculate fully. To be more clear, I mean the reaction by bureaucrats and politicians. They consistently and uniformly destroyed their credibility in order to achieve political goals.

The shame of it is worse than the destruction of formerly trusted and prominent government agencies. It is that while destroying their own credibility and importance, they wrecked the lives and careers of anyone who dared oppose them, they stole your basic freedoms, and pitted Americans against one another. And they did it with a great sense of superiority and righteousness.

Freedom, Truth, and Justice are the building blocks of everything that is great about Western society. In order to achieve their goals, the left has been destroying all three.

Just amazes me. Businesses en masse were shut down. Millions had their livelihoods stripped overnight with absolutely no due process at all. Public properties, buildings and lands were closed, people were arrested for surfing, perfectly healthy people could not appear in public without covering their faces. Countless others lost their jobs and were villianized for refusing a shot that was poorly tested for both efficacy and safety. And the vitriol and legal attempts to force vaccinate children with this, even though they were never at any real risk from COVID is shocking.

We wiped out any logical arguments about truth like restaurants, schools, stores, and movie theaters are deadly dangers, but airline travel is perfectly safe. Going to the beach is deadly, but mass crowds engaging in riots (for the correct causes) is perfectly safe.

Those with political or bureaucratic power silenced and vilified any dissent.

Obey, and accept the Narrative replaced Freedom, Truth, and Justice.... Almost overnight. Terrifying, really.

Speaking of power and control, my state passed a law that requires me to have my age and identity verified by the hosting website before viewing porn. I need to move to a state with more freedom!

Let's also not forget the media and it's complicity. Somehow the "journalists" need to be culpable on an individual basis. Pragmitism doesn't seem to be a component of society any longer.....

My wife and I have each had COVID once. But amazingly, we never gave it to each other. I guess we weren't "super spreaders".

Very well said, you hit the nail on the head. I am disappointed at how many are oblivious to the Narrative.
 
I know i told this on here before but we have new members so...Our great Governor Tom Wolf (PA) <sarcasm> shut down several counties. Beaver county had a nursing home that was responsible for over 90% of the cases in the county. Wolf shut down the entire county. Businesses argued that the rest of the county was fine and below limits. The Beaver county DA said he would not charge any businesses that violated Wolfs mandate. Wolf then threatened to withhold all state funding to the county. This included free and reduced lunches. A week later Wold lifted the ban for all counties except Beaver county. Don't tell me this wasn't a power struggle.
Oh...and Wolf used to own a cabinet making company that he sold after being elected. He shut down all similar businesses (competitors) but left his former company open. He did cave in to this after being called out on it. This is the same state that brought you John Fetterman and Dr Richard (Rachel) Levine.

I'm posting this as I lay in my bed with a football game on the tube. I've had shingles twice. Once when I was 30 (could stand to wear a shirt for a week) . Second was about 10 years ago. No blisters but my right hand looked like a blown up nitrile glove. My index finger still gets a burning sensation. Not sick enough to go to emergency but it has wiped my out today.

Back when in college, i got mononucleosis. Holyeeeee crap. That was bad. Was quarantined in my bedroom for a month, only person allowed in my room was my mother and that was to bring food then GTFO. Slept for a month. A trip to the toilet for 5 minutes would kick my ass. Take a pee, sleep for 5 hours. That was bad.
