Coupler spinning?

Lost my port engine engine today; coming in and my I/O is just spinning. Engine itself is running and I believe my shift cable is connected. I’m assuming coupler needs replacement, which I think is a boat haul and engine pull.
Any thoughts on this repair? I’ve owned the boat since 2007; first engine pull. Connecticut is probably a 2x in terms of typical cost...
 
I didn’t smell anything; mechanic mentioned this spring that it appeared worn as he attached the drive, so I’m making an assumption. Yes, Bravo III.
 
I did this job once....didn't take too long to pull the engine and replace the coupler. I was at a rack storage place and give the forklift guy a $50 to pull the engine and drop it down. replaced the coupler and back in...took 4 hours or so. Good luck...
