Got the bad news...the port coupler is shot. I brought the boat to Russo's because I wanted it done right. They pulled the drive and showed me, it was totally stripped. They are quoting me 2 days labor (+/- $1800) to remove the motor and another $500 or so for the coupler. The motors are tough to get at in this boat, but does 2 days sound right to get it out?

Does not sound unresonable... maybe do the starboard while they are in there? It will likely go soon also.

Sorry :smt089

They are going to pull the other drive to see how it looks.

Must be an alignment problem! Those Bravo couplers are tough and your running a 350. I replaced the coupler on my CV-23/350/Alpha1 because the engine was out of alignment at 600 hours (front was low). I'd really have the other one checked and replaced also. I paid $800 total a few years ago, Mike.

I lost one on my 270/454/B3 after about 600 hours... the alignment was checked annually. I was told thereafter that you should grease them every 50 hours with the special grease.
