We have a 2005 390 DA gasser.
I am experiencing a slight vibration in my port side at low RPM's. I assumed props damage. I went in to fine the prop's look good. Next I checked my Transmissions and both were low. I'm changing both tranny fluid and filters but, may have to have it hauled out to better check the props. I'm unable to check the shafts underwater.

Any info on correct prop would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

One more thing to note: W/ the hatch open I could hear a slight un-constant tick sound from the starbord Transmision / engine that I do not hear on the port?

If you email Searay from their web site with your info and hull identification number, and ask for your build sheet, they will email it to you within 24 hours. Info about your props and other important information will be on it.

Thanks I will e-mail Sea Ray. This sounds intresting to see what they will send back.
I had the boat pulled only to learn that props were O.K. and no sound on tranny.
They have assumed I caught a plastic bag and came off in the process of running forward and reverse. 130.00 dollars spent to be safe and see the props agian!

If you have the boat pulled, then the prop size and pitch and whether they are RH or LH, should be on the prop itself....that is assuming you already have the correct props on there.

Get confiramtion from Sea Ray but the prop I think you need is 21x22.5x1.5" LH4 DQ Bronze Std. w/cup and a 21x22x1.5" RH4 w/cup. I had a 2004 390 DA gasser and had these as spares. Never used, still in factory boxes with scans and orginal invocies for $3,158. Will sell for $1,500 and you pay the freight. PM me if you are interested. Thank you.

I had a 2005 390 DA Gasser, same boat. And had a vibration but mine turned out to be some very minor prop damage at the outside of one of the blades - was going to tell you that it doesn't take much at all but it sounds like you already verified the props are fine.

PS - At our marina pulling a 390 out is probably $500, I was amazed you mentioned $130 to pull the boat out and put it back in - that's amazingly cheap from what I've seen/experienced.

Regards,
Jason

I have a 2004 390 and have the same slight vibration. I had the props rebuilt and I still have the vibration. I then had the shafts checked and they are fine. I was told that I should have the props scanned but I have about decieded that I can live with the very slight vibration. The question is how much money are you willing to spend to find a small vibration.

Jiff,

What is like going from a 390 to a 48? I had been thinking about moving to a 44 but the price differance is not that big to move to a 48. What do you think?

rwvw415, I didn't want to take the thread off topic or get into a debate with anyone on personal preferences, so I sent you a PM.

Thanks,
Jason

worn cutlass bearings will give you a vibration as well.

When they pulled us our boat Technician Kasten Marine did the cutlass bearings. Its good now so were going to go w/ we caught a bag or sometning that is bown off now. Thanks for the advice!
