Hello,
I am having trouble finding the correct replacement control for my 1994 220 Signature Select. The current control seems to have been pieced together from two different types and the only thing holding the handle on is a small button that is snapped on. The handle easily pulls off. I talked to a local boat repair shop and they said to replace it with a Mercruiser 4000 control and Gen II cables. I ordered it and it will not fix due to the box being bigger than the one in it now. There is not enough height for the box to align up with the current hole. What is the correct replacement control? I appreciate any assistance. See pictures of the current control and handle.
