Coolant Splitter Plastic Thing??????????

See this thing ^^ The gray plastic thing with the blue plug. What is that? Mine cracked at the blue plug from over tightening and i need a new one. Thank You!!!! Tyler

That is the water distribution housing.

Don't beat yourself up, though. You didn't cause the problem by tightening that blue plug. The way that plug seals is with an o-ring, not a tapered thread. There must have already been a crack in there and it was just good timing that it broke when you screwed it in.

These are your part numbers, just depends on if you have the manual drain (as in the picture), or if you have the remote/handle drain.

funny. just had to replace mine this year as well... guess its plastic to prevent corrosion , but its not a cheap plastic part!

I'm replacing manifolds and not sure I want to put a plastic part where the hose attaches at the bottom of the manifold? Should I put in a metal one or trust the plastic with the O-ring?? I'm afraid I'll tighten the hose clamp break the whole piece!

how coincidental,,,lol.I literally just broke the same housing last week on my 6.2. Fotrunately it is an easy but not cheap fix. The distribution housing has to be replaced. I did an internet search and found one at BOATS.NET for $172.00, that's the cheapest I could find. Good luck.
