Coolant Loss 3116 Cat

Thank you all for the great advice.
We are fully assembled with new turbo now ready to dewinterize and start up next week to let me sleep at night for the rest of the winter. I could not see any sign of water pooling in the bottom of the elbow, just the turbin housing (which has a lip and would hold just a small amount of fluid). I will test further in the spring when I can run water and not worry about re-winterizing.

Thanks to all of the great people helping me out
Started the cat today and all is good, re-winterized the motor and now I can sleep at night until April.

Despite a few initial build inconstancies which have largely been healed by CAT or by time, CAT's 3100 series can be a reliable, efficient and clean marine engine.

Glad your problem was easily solved.

BEST !
