Cool things you found on your boat?

Huge footprints on the ceiling in the salon....I think the previous owner was a 'player'....

I check in alot of the new boats at our marina for warranty, so I'm amazed with the new gadgets & stuff that I find.

On another note, I find little presents from Sea Ray sometimes.... things left by the people working at the factory :)

Oh yes... when I pulled my freezer out, one would think they would at least make half an effort to sweep the boat out before they put appliances in. When I pulled the carpet up in the salon last year to get to the engine hatch (it's not glued in the 480 DB), the floor was a mess and had not been swepted up either.

I need to look around more. I need to find some cool things on my boat like a tool or something.

Well my boat was new but here is what I found:

Quart of Oil shoved between the batteries
Extra Prop Anode in the Owners Manual Pouch
Extra Fuses in the Owners Manual Pouch (after I bought a complete set for the boat)

Nothing exciting though.

I found a hole in my wallet !

Nothing too exciting, PWM did a fine job of prepping the boat, only thing I found were some replacement bulbs for my arch lights

I forgot, I also had 2 throwable brand new cushions and 4 quarts of Chevron Delo 400 engine oil and a small tool kit.

One of the most useful things among a dozen expired flares, three sets of vinyl letters for the old name, a dozen of those crappy keyhole PFD's and a plethora of cleaners and waxes was a brand new scuba diving float w/flag! Used it just last weekend. Oh, and a really great Elton John CD in the new Sony changer. Scuh-ores!

We found 6 CD's of S. Fl. club music, great cleaning products that we had never heard of, various A/V cables, a bottle of hand-bottled Mexican tequila in the freezer (where we still keep it), one can of Tecate Beer, which we were keeping, until a guest drank it, Koozees from the original owner's business, who I called and got details about the boat, survival gear, some awful smell in the cabin (ethnic seasoning - tooks months to get out).

I found a empty fuel tank...I keep trying to fill it up but then I find it empty again.

Additionally I found that I get butt raped everytime I go to the gas station to get the fuel.

I found quite a few things...

- A bunch of 'Journey' CD's left in the disc changer
- hair dryer and curling irons
- Spare tool kit in salon floor storage
- A pile of cleaning supplies
- Flare kit and hand-held spotlight

I think that's about it... nothing too exciting

D...
Did you happen to find any cushions or whatever they might be to cover the odd shaped skylights??

I'm thinking mine must have been lost since they didn't come with the boat but seems like they should have?

A blue SeaRay cup
a bag of orange life vest
some key chain floatie things
a whole box of co-axle(sp) cable for the t.v.???

My wife found two unused condoms in the forward cabin of our SD 340. Lots of questions targeted at me after that. They were not mine.

I had a veritable bonanza.
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Large flat screwdriver
  • Scrub brush
  • Small, white, oval carpet (works great on the swim platform so folks can wipe the dock dirt off of thier feet as they board... no backing, so it can be tossed in the washer when we get home)
  • A couple of quarts of oil.
  • 1/4 can of WD40
  • Bottle of Fantastic cleaner
  • 1/2 bottle of Spic 'n Span cleaner
  • A plastic "cleaner caddy" that has a nice handle in the center.
  • 1 replacement screw on snap
  • Several rolls of paper towels
  • 1 American flag
  • A new package of 10oz styrofoam coffee cups
  • About 40 trash bags that fit the under step trash can - still haven't used them all up.
  • About a dozen bungy cords, 2 regular, and about 10 small, white ones (are these for the biminis?)
  • 50' shore power cord
  • Adapter for shore power cord to plug into standard 20A grounded outlet
  • 10 orange life vests
  • 1 white, throwable
  • 3 pack of flares
  • 1/2 pack of SeaLand TP
  • And the most important find of all... one can of Glade bathroom air freshener under the sink in the head. :smt038
(Who woulda thunk a 10 year old girl could foul the entire cabin so fast?)

I really don't know. The broker said that it was the natural wood smell, If so, I've managed to get the natural wood smell out. What I do know is that I snuck onto my boat the day before getting it back from getting maintenance done at the original marina. I slept on it on the rack with nothing but open windows and a jacket - the smell gave me a sick feeling.

Cool things - How about the hidden compartment in the back corner of the cabin on the 340? If you know about it, it's no big deal. If you don't, it's HUGE! (4 cases of drinks, parts, books, and room to spare.)

You mean the fold down backrest by the elec panel? I just wish there was storage thats easily usable under the couch.
Things I found
Kohler genny service kit (in the hidden storage:thumbsup:)
New shore power cords, 40'?
Complete tool kit
2 spare 800gph pumps and one new float switch
3 sea ray welcome mats
2 offshore life jackets
2 new hoses for shore water
2 cases of tank treatment
and more that I cant remember. Tons of cleaners etc. SB

Excellent! (Yep, that's the one. I've heard stories of people finding it a year or two into ownership. That was probably when the model was new.)

I knew the previous owner left me a full compliment of life vests, but after taking her home, found the following;

2 fenders
extra chain rode
extra anchor
3 gallons Engine Oil
Extra Fuel/Water filter
Extra Serpentine Belt
WD40
Isenglas Cleaner
Flare Gun and Flares
Shorepower Cord & Adapters
First Aid Kit
Stove Fuel
Holding Tank Solution
Some Mystery Stuff in a spray bottle (smelled caustic???)
Waste Tank Adapter
Scotchbrite Pads
and lastly.....
a set of Oakley sunglasses.......

Seemed like a pretty good haul, considering I had planned on buying most of that stuff anyway. (except for the Mystery Stuff)
