We have a 2006 29' amberjack. would like to start changing from halogen lamps to leds. would like to start in cockpit with blue led bulbs. can anyone help? Thanks

There is a boat load of discussion on the subject here if you use the search function. I don't think any info exists that hasn't been discussed.
Good luck.

Superbright I did the whole boat and most of the house using them

www. apexlighting.com, formally yachtlights.com sell cockpit and spoiler LED replacement fixtures. They are tri-color (red, blue, white), a little pricey @ 90-100$ each but look great. That was a few years ago. This year I just did the entire boat with LED bulb replacements from marinebeam. If you mention your a member of CSR you get a 10% discount. PM me your email and I will send you a PDF of all the part numbers you need. We have same boat so it doesn't get any easier.

Thanks for your suggestion on Superbrites!!! Just did whole boat ~ AWESOME!!!!! Happy boater!!!!!

Thanks for your suggestion, to use Superbrite ~ just did entire boat ~ looks AWESOME!!! You and one other person suggested this site ~ and we appreciate your help! Happy boating!

I found the attached at http://www.imtra.com/96ff9241-d8ea-4f91-9a12-5dd42f7eb743/lighting-bulbs-led-detail.htm and really love them. Just turn the switch off then back on to change color. No wiring required to get two different led lighting.

For the cabin light G4 globe replacement - whats the general consensus as to the better G4 bulb - the tower led bulb or the disc led bulb?

I'm trying to emulate the existing halogen characteristics perhaps with a little more light.

Trust me, go with a good quality disc led. I've tried 4-5 different brands and types in our boat before I got what I liked. These lights below (in warm white!) are a class to themselves in terms of the quality of light and build.

I suggest anyone upgrading to leds buy at least one of these and compare against the cheaper brands... your're going to have these in your boat for many years so might as well get a color/brand you really like.

Thanks for the confirmation - yes that was the disc LED I was looking at - or Nathan at Marinebeam suggested the 12 LED version for more light. But you've confirmed the 10 LED disc is a great light.

I have tried a few options. Superbright and Marinebeam seem to be the best choices. Depends on the fixture. In the reading lights Marinebeam has some great choices. Superbright has some great bulbs for the cockpit. Haven't replaced many G4 lights yet. But will be comparing.

What is the best way to remove ring from courtesy lights.

Marine Beam, cool white disc type g4.
Put 35 all thru the boat. Not cheap.
Cockpit area is different but mine goes white, red, and blue.
