The guy at great lakes in unsure what im on about, lol.

As you know, older Sea Rays the aluminum extrusion for the windshield (windscreen on boats as well?) top rail has a slot that a rubber gasket that is attached to the canvas is pressed into. On newer Sea Rays, the mechanism for attaching the canvas to the top rail is the use of snaps. On these Sea Rays, the top rail looks the same as the older version, but the dimensions of the rail extrusion are different. FYI making snaps work with the rubber gasket aluminum frame can be done, but requires a lot of work and risk of damaging the glass. I have had to do this and do not recommend it.

All you should need to tell the person at Great Lakes is that your canvas does not use snaps to attach to the frame. If they tell you that you can use snaps on your model, get the persons name, thank him and hang up. Call back later and ask to speak to anyone but the person you last spoke to. The short version is that based on your year of manufacture, whoever you speak to should know what type of attachment your canvas requires.

You may have to buy the rubber gasket a a separate piece and attach it when the canvas is first installed. It is the same for snaps. This insures a tight fit to compensate for minor differences in the Bimini frame dimensions.
