Hooked my shore power up to my house. GFI outlet in the garage. Shore power works EXCEPT when I throw the switch for the converter (wanted to try it at home before trying it (all of it) at the slip). When I throw the switch for the converter, the GFI blows at the garage.

Any thoughts?

Well, I had a slip all weekend. Powered it up, no issues whatsoever. EVERYTHING worked the way that it should - even the converter. We had an amazing time and I'm glad that the boat's electrical systems were all working properly.

I know this thread is 2 years old, but I had the same issue today with my P-27 and not sure why.

I used a 30A shore power cord from the boat to a pig tail that pluged into a reg 110 outlet. The panel in the boat light up. However, nothing in the boat would come on (both batery's were dead) and the charger would not come on. When I turned on the panel it showed 110 but when I fliped the converter switch it went to 0 and the reverse polarity light on the panel came on.

I tryed a new shore power cord and the convert came on w/o any problems.
