Convert to a hardtop

George,

I've never seen it. But was we consultants say, "Its only time and money!" and "Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it!"

Seriously, I remember seeing the 07 320 at the boat show that had 'permanent' biminis. The framing was welded aluminum tubing about 2" diameter. That was bolted to the radar arch. It looked strong enough to use for chin ups. The canvas was then attached to this frame and not meant to be rolled up. So I suppose a good fiberglass guy could fabricate something along the same lines and replace the canvas with something solid. Whether you could take that and carry on to a solid window glazing on the sides and above the existing windshield I don't know.

I guess it all comes down to how far you want to customize your Sea Ray, and whether re-sale ability is a concern.

One of our members here has a 330 DA that has a custom hard top on it so it can be done. I really liked the idea of it and after seeing the new 350DA for the first time, I called around about having one made. 18k was about the average quote :wow: but these days I'd bet they'd do it for nearly half that. Anyhow, I can't see it as being worth the expense, I'd just assume buy a bigger boat with the hardtop standard.

My 30 has a hard top, I don't know if it came that way in 88 or what. I would be happy to send you what ever info I can find on it or any measurements you might need.

Ok it's been 3 years since I posted this thread and only 2 replys. I will try again. Does anynoe out there have any info or pics on a clean hardtop converson for a 340 SDA>

We'd be interested to know what you find out too please:)

I'm going to the boat late tomorrow. I will shoot some pics and post when I get home. I know it's built on 2" tubular aluminum and runs back to my radar arch. I will send you anything I can find on it.

Sea Ray Living magazine featured, i believe a 90's or early 2000's 400 with a custom hardtop it just didnt look right , it was done well but the lines didnt look great together.

Hope this works? It's an older Searay but it's the only pics they have. Price is in the $12,000 range but they run specials and the price is now $8900 with some extras such as lights thrown in.
