I have a 44' Sundancer 2006 -- I went to launch the boat for spring (was in inside heated storage) -- I heard a constant high-pitch Alarm - I found the alarm was coming from a small speaker wired directly to the Systems Monitor. The Systems Monitor displayed "All system Normal" -- the SmartCraft list a low voltage alarm in its history -- I charged all batteries and noticed the alarm was still on -- I disconnect all batteries including the battery charger -- waited 15 minutes -- reconnected -- alarm still sounded -- I looked at all float switches (none were stuck on and I learned that the audible alarm for the high water goes directly through the Systems Monitor speaker -- different than this external speaker wired about 8" from the Systems Monitor) -- I talked to Sea Ray Customer Service -- It seams the think it is either the alarm/speaker or the systems monitor -- one of the techs suggested that I post this on the Club forum to see if anyone has any insight -- any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Did you definitely look under the salon floor and check the float in the shower sump and the one just in front of it in the bilge?

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Giving this one a bump. I suggested to the owner of this gorgeous Sea Ray that he post of his issue on this forum as there is such a wealth of information here. Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Been there. PM me for details but IF the system is actually working properly (aka it is just the alarm speaker that's gone bad) you can disconnect the speaker easily. You'll want to disconnect the speaker anyway at this point as it will annoy the hell out of everyone. Have you removed the storage compartment to the right of the unit to gain access behind the panel? The black control unit aka DDU has four wires coming out the back as well as an RG cable going to the sender unit in the ER. Disconnect the RG cable and reconnect to make sure it is in there tight. The black speaker is easily visible as are the spade connectors to disconnect it. Unfortunately a strong possibility is that your DDU is going south. $600+ to get a new one of those panels. Greatlakesskipper has them at a good price occasionally, or you can order from your dealer.

He followed your suggestion and called me on Sunday as we were in the car on the way home. It seems he did disconnect the batteries just in case part of the system's monitor is energized with the battery switches off which should have reset all the systems. That gets me down to the point where I think the systems monitor is faulty, unless the wiring diagram can lead to something I am missing.

However, I have no access to a 44DA schematic because the new Sea Ray website doesn't work. The parts list does show a confusing number of bilge pumps......I think there may be more than the parts list shows. It is not clear from the part list, but most Sea Rays of this size have a high water pump in the lowest compartment in the cabin area. The owner should open the compartments and verify if such a pump is there and if the float switch is stuck closed and functioning properly when you manually raise the float.

OK....I'm out of ideas.

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Frank, if the system is working normally, the LCD display will show what has triggered the error. Since the system apparently reads "All Systems Normal", I'm leaning towards a bad unit, possibly just a bad/shorted horn. (On the 44DA, the high water sensor is pretty high-up in the ER and there is a second one in the salon. You would see a lot of water in the Engine room, PLUS there are two other pumps lower than the high-water alarm! I'm pretty sure that the pumps are not in a true fault condition and are not the problem here. That said, the system also monitors more than 20 other critical system "conditions" but most would trigger only when engines and generator in running state.)

You can reset the unit and horn by pressing the RESET button for 10 seconds. Do this next and hopefully it will be the fix. If after holding down the button for 10 seconds, the display does not reset and the alarm does NOT turn off even for a split second, the unit may be defective.

GOTIME, one other thing to note. The grey speaker you see on top of the system monitor has nothing to do with this problem. That's the radio speaker. The culprit is a little black bugger behind the DDU.
Does the text on the display look funky? That's usually a sign that the unit is going bad. Also, these units can be temperamental to low voltage and bad batteries. Make sure your batteries are in good shape before proceeding.

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

I finally was able to locate one of the only links I've ever found on this system. Required reading for anyone having issues.

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Same issue here. Searching for a new Sea Ray P/N 1907858. F-P is out and did not see at Great Lakes Skipper. Any recommendations appreciated?

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

If no hits on ebay, FP and GLS, your only recourse may be to keep the one you have and wait, or otherwise you'll be calling dealers. I do know that price from dealers will also vary from $750 to $1,000 approx.

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

Gerry- I contacted Sea Ray and they have seven in stock. Our dealer mentioned $1200 as the cost. Witch prompted me to look here. Also mention most of the functionality was included in our vessel view display. Mike

Re: Constant Alarm Sounding from Isolated Speaker--Systems Monitor -- 44' Sundancer,

I've only had my new boat for a month so I probably don't know sh-t but if I leave the radio speaker turned on there's a loud high pitched alarm that goes off until I turn it off. I didn't bother to see where the sound was coming from but it stops immediately when I shut off the speaker.
