I'm considering upgrading from my 2007 Sea Ray Sundeck 240 to a Sundeck 260. The last few years I had a lot of engine issues with my 240 (600+ hrs) and now its shot. Anybody out there with a Sundeck 260 (2011,2012,2013) that can share their experiences with that boat...good and bad? I was considering re-powering the 240, but it just seems like an easier option to upgrade to a newer model - I really like the back seat configuration on the newer 260's as well.

For the most part, the 260SD is going to feel (perform) a lot like what you're used to since they're pretty much identical as far the hull (performance and size) is concerned. The topside is where things change - which of course is mostly personal preference.

My personal opinion is that a 2010 260 would be the best choice. It has the seating configuration you are looking for but the engine doesn’t have the catalytic converters on the exhaust. I believe That started in 2011.

I had four 240 Sundecks over the years….then switched to the 260 Sundeck…. I never thought Sea Ray could improve the 240….but they did with the 260….get the 350MAG….very nice boat

Ed, if you're still on the fence - you may want to look into fixing the existing engine again. 600 hours is still on the low side of hours - as long as it's not catastrophic, it may be worthwhile.
