I've just started shopping....(upgrading from a 95 Baja 208 Islander-open bow). I have located a clean 99 Sundancer 260 DA with 360 hrs. It has MPI 454 and Bravo III. It appears to be fairly loaded up and has virtually everything I was looking for minus A/C and a generator. I do not think those were even options on that boat.

Curious....anyone add a generator to this model? what kind/size/cost? and also any info on A/C? Would hatch air or a portable inside unit be siffucient? What would this possibly cost?

This clean unit also has a nice trailer and the package is listed at $29,000. I feel the seller will go lower since he is getting out of boating. Any advice is appreciated!

I was hoping to see some replies to this thread. I have an appointment tonight to look at a 260 that may be available at a steep discount. Its been sitting in the water at our local yacht club for a couple years since the owners moved back east. The outside looks it, but I've heard the inside is quite nice and am looking forward to checking it out. In all honesty, a 260 seems too small for what I want, but perhaps a good price and a year of dinking around with it will be a good start rather than buying a 330 as my first boat, given the work thatll come with my budget constraints. In any case, what would you guys look for in this situation?

See my post above about the costs involved in generator installation. I got a great deal on the generator also. If you have to buy retail expect even more. Also the cost of AC would need to be added.

I for one would not consider a boat to sleep on without AC and a generator is a close second.

I did go look at the 260....I was disappointed in how filthy it was, but I can look past that....I think it was a pretty nice machine and would clean up nice, but I found the cabin to be much smaller than I thought it would be.

You really can't get a feel for it until you get in it! I'm no shimp at 6' 275. so that doesn't help, but I am not even sure I could get into the rear cabin. I think using the head could be a challenge.:smt043

I am in no hurry to buy and the more I think about it, the more I want factory AC and a generator. I'm looking at more wide beam 270's now, but I have not totally written off a 260.
