Condensation or Other Problem Starting?

I have a 01 Sea Ray 185 with the 4.3L, purchased it new in 01 and has worked like a top from day one.

Last weekend I noticed a small amount of water coming from both breather hoses, and the flame arrestor had a film of some sort on it. Way in the back, on top of the engine block there was less than a teaspoon full of a watery substance that accumulated there. I suspect upon looking, that this is where the breather hose drippings were going. At any rate I didn't think it was normal, so I wiped everything dry and called my dealer first thing Monday.

The dealer, who is two hours away from me, thought that it was condensation. I had told him that the boat runs fine, the oil is right up to where it should be and it is clean. When the boat is running oil pressure and temp are fine.

This past weekend, took it out again and found the same thing occurring. The boat seems to run fine, with the exception of the drips coming from the breather. If I wasn't looking for it, I probably wouldn't even know it is occurring because by the time I get back to the dock, it is all evaporated except for the less than teaspoon that forms in that one spot.

Is condensation a plausible answer, or do I have something brewing that needs to be checked out?

I had the same problem with my 89 340da. I found a few things because I just got the boat and going through all the little things. This one was that some of the hoses were no good and not sealing with bad clamps also I had a pin hole in one. You couldn't see it when it was running but just happen to have the covers open and it caught my eye dripping fixed it and all is well.:smt038

Thanks Bob - I'll check things out a little closer this weekend and see if I can spot any leaks. It looked to me like the drips were coming from the breather hoses.
