I was told to not compound and wax the upper deck, it wold make it slippery. What can I use to shine the whole upper on my 390 or is the person that I was talking to full of it???:huh::huh: Thanks....Rip

RIP ~ My wife and kids had the boat professionally detailed for Fathers Day, and they said it's best to avoid waxing the non-skid upper deck for that very same reason. I'm sorta bummed because the rest of the boat has come up so nicely, but I'd rather not have a skating rink up there.

I use Woody Wax on the non skid surfaces. It's expensive, but it is made for that purpose and a little goes a long way.

I used Woody Wax for the 1st time this year and it was excellent, very easy to use. As said a little goes a very long way. Any bird droppings come off with very little scrubbing.

Don't wax the non-skid. I waxed the non-skid in the cockpit under my carpet and on the rear gunwales last week and it is very slippery wet or dry...with or without shoes. I wanted to test it on these areas before I attempted to shine up the non-skid on the bow. Glad I tested it first.

Hit it with a good compound then Woody Wax. Heading to the boat to do that this weekend.

I wax the cabin top because to me it's not a foot traffic area. I've made the mistake of putting wax on the swim platform and side decks, and honestly, I was lucky that no-one got hurt before the wax wore off. After that lesson, I've been using Sure Step. I'm not impressed with the durability of Sure Step, so I'm going to switch to Woody Wax for the next application.

Compound and wax everything. It's a death trap but it looks great. I'm the only one up there. Anyone else signs a waiver. Looks before function...you know.

I used Woodys Wax last year and am going to reapply next week. Great product.

I don't think anybody actually stated that Woody's Wax is a wax but WILL NOt make the non skid slippery. This stuff is great (expensive though). As Humph said, compound or clean with non skid cleaner ansd then use Woody's Wax for non skid. Nothing sticks to it but again, it's not slippery when wet or dry.

Thank for the info. went to west today got me a bottle, put it in the truck a little later that day I went to pick it up and show to someone and the top came off,the stuff went all over my truck ,by the time I got to it half of it was on the floor..$36.00 on the floor and the truck now smells like a cat house, went back West told them my story...They gave me a new bottle, You can't beat that...Rip
