Yesterday I was out on a short ride in my 1997 330 Sundancer. I noticed the fluid in my built in compass was nearly gone. How difficult is it to replace? Is it something I'll need to order from Sea Ray or will West Marine do?

Or, can it be repaired? It doesn't look like it would be too hard to replace but any tips on that would be appreciated.

No, don't order this through Sea Ray. There are times when it is advisable to do so, but in this case it would be way too expensive. However, a local dealer (that also deals in the aftermarket) may give you a very good price on one.

However... assuming you have a Ritchie compass, contact them FIRST as they have a very good customer relations department.

I just took mine out and brought it to a compass repairman. New fluid, card, and cover....good as new !! Real easy
