Boating on Raystown Lake, Pa
Boat Info
restored 1976 SRV200
Engines
188 Mercruiser I/O
We just had anchored Old Skool and we were doing a little swimming when a fellow in a relatively new Crownline motors by. After he slowed to no wake speed he yells out " what year is your SR" I yell back "It's a 76" his response was " very nice boat". Everyone on his boat goes thumbs up as he powers back up.
Very cool...

I'm going through the Sturgeon Bay Canal at idle and a couple sitting on the rocks yells out, "NICE BOAT!!". I yell back,"Three grand!" and they almost fall off their perch.:smt043
Seniors compliment the boat all the time, probably due to the wood onboard, but I soak it up like a dry sponge.

I used to get a lot of positive comments on my 330 because I always kept it clean and well waxed.

The one that really draws the comments is a 1989 Reinell 19'er. It has a 351, tops out at 51mph, and I paid $2,000 for it last year.

I get a lot of comments. She's one of a kind, and no one believes she's 25 years old.

Particularly neighbors- who have been passing by her since I bought her three years ago and have seen the "before", "after" and all in-between.

That Reinell must have lived it's life in a garage...are parts still avail for the Windsor?

Have yet to get the SRV 270 Sundancer out and about the lake but I am sure she will be a head turner.

My 1968 Orlando Clipper 21 is the last of only 30 made and every one on the lake knows the boat and I always get a comment about her.

Father's Day, my Dad is looking at the boat and says, "This boat is really in good shape." That's like an Academy Award from my father.

You scratched my anchor.

We took our first overnight trip a couple of weeks ago with our new to us 32 07 to Middle Bass Island on lake Erie. Docked at the state dock. We were closing the boat up getting ready to hit the Island bar and a couple came down the dock and said "we couldn't resist to ask you to look in your boat it is our dream to own a boat like this" made me feel good to show off our boat. I said "we are living our dream right here"

My Dad last year gave me the "Why did you get such an old boat?" I told him to go home and check new boat prices!

The one that I think is funny is when people say, "my Bayliner is only 5 ft shorter" I try to explain the effect of a wider beam. It's funny when they finally walk up and go "Wow thats huge!"
Imagine if they looked at the 390's beam!

It did. The family that owned it bought it when it was 2 years old and used it on the Columbia River in Portland, OR. It was kept covered, in a shed for the rest of its life until I bought it. It's now kept in my garage.

When I die I want to come back as a boat with a life like that! :smt038

Parts on the Windsor may be hard to find. Knock on wood that I don't have to find out.

hmm. The last that I remember was "Hey you @#$@ @#$@#$, you @#$@ #$@ @#$ $@#$@#$!" or something to that effect.

Man, Great comments from everyone. Keep the thread rolling if you haven't posted yet please do so.

There are a bunch of cool tugs both new and old. I love the fact that I am able to keep a classic alive.

Heather, your Orlando is to die for and I love it when parents give their stamp of approval.

Looking at all the pictures is like being in a candy shop.:thumbsup:

I often get comments about the nice lines of my 370DA, but more often when I tell people it is a 1995 , their don't believe it.

A couple of weeks ago an owner of a brand new 40' cruiser said that my boat was larger than his with more room in the cockpit.

Hey Big Al, I think the 95-97 370 DAs are the sharpest boats Sea Ray ever built. The taller arch with the 98's and 99's still look good, but I'm a fan of the lines of the 370 with the shorter arch.

I have had several people ask how big EZ-GO is and they are surprised when I tell them 36. They also don't believe she is an 83 model. Then when they look inside they are really surprised at the room and the wood work. The usuall comments include, "wow, you could live on this boat!" I usually just say, "yea, I know, I will."

Only comment i have had on my old little speedboat has been " Get that pile of junk out the way" .

But now i have the SeaRay i should be ok LOL i hope LOL

I can't hardly leave the boathouse without someone commenting on the lines or admiring the class of my old ride. Anchored out at the islands I've been asked for a tour or complemented numerous times. I get shot-outs from the restaurant patios at other marinas. When I tell them it's 34 years old they nearly fall over.

You all with old-ass boats, we need to see some more pix! These little signature pix and avatars are not cutting it!
