Color Tour with Boat

Ok, first year for us with the larger boat, and my wife and I are considering a "Color Tour". How may of you do this? Any suggestions? My concern is weather, and temperature. Both big variables this time of year.

We live in Michigan and are considering going up to the Torch Lake/Grand Traverse area mid October. This gives us the option of Lake Michigan if the weather is nice, and the chain of lakes if it is not so nice.

Just figured I would throw that out there and see what others have done.

We usually make a run on the last weekend before winterization. I don't know how it will work out this year though...

Probably too far for you, but I know there is some Fall Leave tours on the TN river in October.

In the Fall we move the boat from Frankfort up to Elk Rapids, we are there now. Last year mid October we did a slow cruise around both East and West Bay of Grand Traverse Bay. It was a bit on the cool side but the sun was shining and the colors were great. We had a great time, whole different perspective for a color tour. We recommend it.

Your plan sounds good, do the Bay weather permitting or the inland lakes. Either way I'm sure you will enjoy.
