I was in BJ's yesterday and came across a Coleman inflatable for $499. Aluminum floor, rated for 5hp and 16 inch tubes. naturally it's PVC but appears to be well made. This is very close to "if its too good to be true" category. I also heard that Coleman & Sevlor have merged so that could be a concern. Does anyone have knowledge about Coleman? It appears to be a good solution for a light duty dinghy.
As always thanks in advance for your input

Paul,
For a light duty dinghy that might be OK, but I'd sure examine how you might want to use the dinghy and determine two things: #1 would a light duty PVC dinghy fit current and future needs, and #2, would 5hp be adequate?

A 5hp dinghy won't plane with one person and will be on the slow side with two aboard.

For $499.00 I'd buy a KaBoat! It's 12ft long inflated, but only like 2 1/2ft wide. My 5hp makes it run fast, and will get on plane with two. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.
I think the web site that sells them is, boatstogo.com

They raised the price to $525.00 now, and they are sold out. Mine is very good quality and even though I am 300lb guy I can stand in it. The floor is a high pressure floor. I love it!
Oh and that's my cousin in the picture! haha

Thanks for the input. I think I will hold off until I have a better feel as to why I need a dink.
