What sort of symptoms would I experience if I had a bad or failing coil pack? Its a 1992 mercruiser 3.0 alpha one.

Intermittent miss if failing, constant miss if failed.

So I wouldn't have symptoms of cruising and all of a sudden losing power and even conking out or having a difficult time accelerating?

Bunch of things can cause those symptoms and usually it's not the coil. Higher probability that it's a fuel issue. Let the testing begin.

are carb rebuilds difficult for the average bear and do they include step by step instructions?

I would say car rebuild for sure if it's getting gas

So I am pretty sure I am getting good flow from the fuel pump so I have been told it will probably require a carb rebuild. I that something that is difficult to do or is it one of those things that if you take lots of pictures and take your time you can pull it off. I'm wondering if when you get a rebuild kit if it comes with instructions on how to do everything.

Seems like we have been here before. My random but accurate memory cracks me up every day.

Is rebuilding a difficult or tricky job.....I have done some plug n play stuff with my engine over the years but is rebuilding a carburetor difficult and how do I know what parts to buy....watch you tube videos maybe? I mean I am tempted to try it myself if not to complicated but also don't want to mess up the engine. Also how expensive of a project is it?"
