Has any one replace there icemaker with a refrigerator in the cockpit of a 400DB. If so what model did you use? The icemaker stopped working and I would rather have a small refrigerator.

I did see some that did. I don't remember the models, but Norcold and Isotherm will work fine. It's possible that you may have to cut the openning slightly to make the unit fit, but it's not a big deal (I've done it on my 320DA).

Go to defender.com and see what they have (look at the dementions of each unit). One thing I would advice is if a unit A is smaller and just makes it, look for the next side and cut the openning larger. You'll do this ones and will enjoy any extra room the larger unit will offer for years to go.

I have the isotherm refer in mine. If anyone needs the model number let me know, I will pull it out and dig it up for you guys

When you get a minute can you post it. I have a ice maker on my 400EC that isn't working along with my Norcold frig. I need to replace both. Thanks.

I have the isotherm model 1104902. 12-24 volt refrigerator in my cockpit. Its interesting to hear people comment on swapping the ice maker for the refer. I have often longed for the ice maker.

The isotherm does work well.

I have Isetherm fridge instead of icemeker on my 420DB. Here's the info:

MOD: 1049BA1MK0000
S/N: 820053
12/24v 50W

I don't know why the PO picked 12/24v model. Chances are he wasn't the type who would disconnect the batteries when leaving the boat for the week. When I installed an Isetherm unit in the cockpit of my 320DA I picked 12dcv/110acv model, which stayed ON all season long even when I turn off the batteries switches.

Really haven't gotten into a good rhythm with the icemaker. On any given weekend, the GFCI pops and I have a tray full of moldy water when I arrive. I have ice at the marina, and at most marinas we go to. We have been using soft coolers for the bridge, which works, but having guests traipsing through the salon for every next beer isn't as smooth. Not the worlds biggest problem, for sure, but what do others do?

I replaced the icemaker on the 390 with a small fridge. I did have to open it up a bit then took some teak trim and prettied it up. I did this about 6 years ago. It is a whole lot easier to buy ice than wait on that thing to make it!

I replaced the ice maker on my 400EC with the smallest norcold refrigerator.
It holds a 30 pack of standard cans perfectly.
Slight cutting of the opening and inside was necessary to fit.
