In the process of purchasing a 2012 390. There are two switches where you enter the cabin. Cabin Speakers & Cockpit speakers. When these are switched it seems to take a short period of time before the speakers in the areas begin to play. I am assuming that the switches are applying power to the respective amplifier for each zone. With the head unit on and switching both the cockpit speakers sounded fine. The cabin speakers had static as if radio station static when playing the same source. Any insight into the system operation would be appreciated.

Check your power source to the cabin amplifier. Also check the speaker wires. They may have a little corrosion causing some static or distortion.

I used to have a persistent crackling hum in my speakers. During a service visit, the shop installed a noise filter that cleared it right up. Not sure of the exact model but I think it was similar to this one from Amazon:

It was a very cheap fix; the part was $20-ish and labor was miniscule. In hindsight I could have done it myself.
