CO Monitor replacement for generator shutdown option

Yes, the absence of the detector should prevent the generator from running as it provides a NC (normally closed) relay contact.

Of course, it can be bypassed by shorting those two wires in the harness; however this is clearly not advised for safety reasons.
Service tech replaced my old generation CO detector with the new CMD5 and also installed the RCM5 relay 3 years ago. Worked fine but yesterday my generator will not start and reads AE for Aux Input Fault likely due to the CO detector. CO detector appears to be functional with green light ever 3 minutes and properly gives active condition when pressing test button. What terminals on the relay should be sure together to bypass the CO detector so I can see if the generator will now start and stay on. Presently it immediately shuts down as designed if CO detector is not working. If the generator stays on then my CO detector is bad even though it is showing as good. Thank you.
