I just read through the posts from the club level section regarding visitors to this site that are not members. The importance of joining Club Sea Ray can not go under stated. For many years I was a member of a web site called Offshore Only. I was affiliated with the offshore powerboat racing community. The importance of members paying a tiny membership fee to support a forum like this is hugely important. I watched at one point when Offshore Only almost went away due to being vultured by a competitor site. The membership money radically declined and things looked bleak. The overhead of maintaining a site like this can really stack up. As much as the owners of this site, whoever they may be, love boating I am sure they do not want to do this for free.

A boat is a very complicated set of systems as I am sure you all are aware. Each of us not only has knowledge and wisdom from years of boating but also knowledge in other areas. A generalized knowledge in plumbing may come in handy for someone having trouble with an older boats plumbing. A plumber may know alternatives or short cuts. To get to my point visitors, you are strongly encouraged to join. While you may have limited boating experience your knowledge of anything from computers and technology, plumbing, electrical, engines or even printing may help someone. It all comes back to you when you need assistance. This forum is a treasure trove of Sea Ray information and thousands of years of experience and wisdom when adding all members together. Buy a membership. You wont be sorry!

Agreed. Obviously, I'm new-ish here but the wealth of information I've gleaned is worth every bit of the membership cost.

I cannot even begin to calculate the amount of time and money I have saved over the past several years relating to boat expenses as a result of being an active member of this forum....not to mention the vast amount of boating knowledge I gained....

I'm very proud to be a paying member of CSR......

Phasma,

Thanks for the kick in the butt. To show how dumb I am, I just assumed the "Sponsor" icons were of people in the industry who were behind the ads. Glad to step forward & thank everyone for their help by contributing.

Information? Knowledge? C'mon guys you all know we don't come on here for that. We just come here to discuss anchors. portable gennys on the swim platform and to grouse about the weather.

Phasma, your post is a good reminder to all of us.

+1 The subscription cost doesn't begin to cover all the benefits I get from this site - and the new boating friends I have made!
