Hello, I'm new to the forums and wanted to express how valuable an environment this is. Seemingly everything you ever wanted to know has already been discussed but I might have one that hasn't so here goes.

I've recently bought an 06 240 DA and the port stern cleat is slightly bent and I've got to replace it and reseal the mount. The problem is that I don't know how to get at it. I've of course tried from the engin compartment as well as the aft cabin with no luck. The only thing I can think of is to remove the ouside plastic piece that covers the blower exhaust and try and reach up from there but from peaking inside, it doesn't seem possible. I can't find any previous forums and I wonder if anyone has ever replaced this cleat or might have any ideas.

Any feedback would be most helpful. Thank you in advance.

I have the same year/boat, and will take a look when I am out at the marina later this week. It sounds like you've checked all of the obvious places, however.

I will say welcome and also, some deck mounted cleats, supports etc. require some real work to get at the backing hardware. I resealed all my bow rail stanchions and had to remove the microwave, cut some headliner, etc. to get the job done.

I would call the Sea Ray 800 number. Someone from the factory might be better equipped to answer your question especially since this is still a current model that is still in production.
